This body of work consists of twelve raku fired ceramic objects and a map-like graphite drawing on calico. It is a culmination of a year long obsession with the possibilities of transporting the actors of mythologies of the Malay Archipelago, ancestral spirits, demons and ghouls from our various places of origins into site markers, monuments and totemic quasi-ritual objects.
These works have been selected by an international panel of judges to be part of the 30th Australian National Graduate Exhibition, Hatched at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA).
